Tractr is a dynamic New York based fashion jeans wear brand. The business was started in 1997 by two entrepreneurs, Howard Mensch and Diane Kuczer. The two met while working for the same company, HW Carter & Sons. The company was an old work wear brand that they re-positioned into a fashion work-oriented brand selling work fashion to Urban Outfitters and other fashion forward stores throughout the country. When their tenure there was finished, they quickly realized that between them, they had all the components needed to start a fashion jeans business. Diane had a design background, and Howard had a sales, marketing and retail background. So, they did some research in abandoned trademarks, and found Tractr. They immediately re-trademarked the brand, and launched Tractr Brand Jeanswear in January 1998, as a juniors and girls fashion jeans company. Specialty stores and boutiques throughout the country quickly snapped up the unique well fitted styles, and the distribution grew into Department Stores such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Von Maur, and Neiman Marcus. Today Tractor is one of the most popular and well known brands in the 4-14 girls market in the USA, with distribution in all the better department stores and specialty stores.
